80-10m EFHW

Description

This 80-10m End-Fed Half-Wave (EFHW) antenna was my first HF antenna installation after obtaining my amateur radio license in April 2025. It is a ready-made, commercially purchased 8-band version that covers the 80, 40, 30, 20, 17, 15, 12, and 10 meter bands.

The EFHW design offers several advantages for a first HF antenna: it requires only a single support point, can be deployed in various configurations (horizontal, sloper, or inverted-L), and typically operates without requiring an antenna tuner across its design bands. This makes it an excellent choice for getting on the air quickly while learning HF operations.
